Flags were lowered to half staff pretty much everywhere across America to honor the late Dolly Parton.

Pretty much everywhere except Olive Branch, Mississippi, that is. The Memphis suburb kept their flags at full staff at the direction of their mayor, who said that lowering the flag to honor Dolly Parton would “lessen the meaning of the gesture.”

The decision came as a shock to many, as even the President Of The United States supported lowering the flags.

Dolly was even honored internationally. The Royal family even took the time to remember Dolly.
